Ceiling Repair and Coating

February 6th, 2009 · No Comments · Coatings

TMI Coatings recently repaired and coated two ceilings for a large manufacturer of milk, ice cream and other dairy products.  The existing coating on the ceiling had begun to peel and chip and there were also areas where the concrete was spalling.

TMI pressure washed the ceilings to remove the loose and flaking paint.  Inferior cracking and disbonding concrete was removed.  A mortar filler was used to restore the concrete spalls to the surrounding plane.  TMI then applied two coats of an elastomeric coating to the ceilings.  This coating is food grade approved, tough and flexible and able to expand and contract.  In addition, the coating is mildew resistant and can handle high humidity and frequent washings.

The customer was concerned about getting the work done around their busy schedule.  TMI was able to do the work during weekends to minimize the company’s downtime.  The customer was impressed with the quality of the work and the efficiency of TMI’s crew.
