TMI Coatings Contracted To Fiberglass Walls And Partitions In Sanitation Room

June 21st, 2011 · No Comments · TMI FIBERLIFE

TMI Coatings was contracted to fiberglass walls, partitions and paint the ceiling in a sanitation room.  TMI fiberglassed 14’ up the walls and applied epoxy coating material to the ceiling and remainder of the approximately 20’ high walls.  The customer wanted fiberglass with mat reinforcement applied directly to the concrete to reduce the risk of water seeping behind sheet fiberglass panels causing mold and mildew.

During one of the final walk-throughs with the contact, he stated that TMI’s workmanship was excellent and was very happy the way the coating system was applied.  He also said it brightened up the room and helped improve light reflectivity.

TMI Coatings Applies Food Grade Coating at Food Plant

June 8th, 2011 · No Comments · Ceiling & Wall Coatings

A large food plant near Minneapolis, Minnesota requested a coating be applied to the Meat Test Lab and the Fruit Room ceilings.  In the Meat Test Lab, the ceilings, I-beams, sprinkler piping and condenser pans were properly cleaned and prepared for the adhesion of the new coating. The owner selected a food grade elastomer coating for durability and longevity.

The ceiling in the Fruit Room was power tool cleaned to remove rust and primed with epoxy prior to coating. The ceiling area included the duct work, cross beams, boxes, hangers and conduit. The owner selected a food grade reinforced coating for the steel members to reduce corrosion; FIBERLIFE a fiberglass reinforced plastic consisting of a food grade resin and fiberglass mat reinforcement was hand laid up.  The result of both rooms was a food grade protective coating that will not chip, peel or flake for many years to come.

TMI Coatings Lines The Interior Of A Condensate Tank At A Private College In The Twin Cities

June 3rd, 2011 · No Comments · Tank Maintenance

A mechanical company hired TMI Coatings to line the interior of a condensate tank at a private college in the Twin Cities.  This was a critical shut down requiring work be completed in the shortest amount of time.  Because the condensate tank was a part of the heating system at the college dormitories and many college students were going to be away over the Easter holiday, the client felt it was a good time to complete the tank lining.

Friday morning, TMI began sandblasting the interior of the tank.  TMI completed sandblasting on Saturday, removed abrasive/blew down the tank and tested the profile.  Sunday morning, TMI applied putty to the pitted areas to restore deep pits prior to applying the second coat to the interior of the tank and force curing.  TMI completed the project by noon on Sunday which gave the owner plenty of time to do any maintenance that had to be done prior to start up Monday morning.  Joe Pallansch, the site contact, commented that TMI’s supervisor was very professional, courteous and he was also happy with TMI’s workmanship, clean up and completing work within the timeline.
